Robert was born in Edinburgh, but spent his teenage years in Ireland where he became a
Christian. He commenced study at the Faith Mission Bible College in 1989 and worked with the Faith Mission for one year. He returned to study theology in Belfast and has served as a church minister on both sides of the Atlantic. Robert was the principal of the Faith Mission Bible College for 9 years, and currently serves as the minister of Duncan Street Baptist Church in Edinburgh. He is married to Elaine who is a midwife and they have 5 grown up children who are scattered around the world
